Review of The Electric Church by Jeff Somers

I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but i did do this with The Electric Church and found out that once in a while a cover doesn't lie.
< As you can see that cover there is pretty intense and got me wanting to read the book. Especially the thingy on the side that says "Eternal Life can be yours For a price"

The story in this book is a triad of crime, science fiction and thriller. So if you are a fan of one or all of those type of books pick it up. The main character Avery Cates is a bad ass with heart of bronze(he has moments of good). He is a infamous "gunner" and his hired by the police as an assassin to kill off the leader to what is known as The Electric Church. The "Monks" of the church are killers themself...just as the saying says you must die to get eternal life. I don't want to get to in depth or it might give away some of the story. This is just the first in the series and i hope to read the next in the series if i can get my hands on it.

As for Jeff Somers writing...the best way to explain it is Phillip K. Dick meets Chuck Palahniuk. There is plenty of swear words, and plenty of strange devices and names for members of society. Over all this book is by far one of the greatest sci-fi books i have read...although not THE best it is up there and i have read alot of books. For me Jeff Somer in some way has started a new genre "Crime-science fiction" or something of that manner. Lets hope that the second is as good as the first.

So if you like swear words and guns flying and a badass then pick up this book today

i give it a 9/10

Frustration

Forgive me nerdheads for i am rambling....I can not write, I can not write I can not write, why can’t I write. This is very very fruststrayting that I can not write. Perhaps I should just let something flow out of me like it is at this moment. But this is just shit, nothing of importance, I won’t save this maybe I will. This is neither poem nor story its just a rambling, grammar is of little importance. Why can’t I write any of the three stories that have been stuck in my head for weeks. I should be able to get something down, I am a writer, or I’d like to think that I am. I love writing; it is my passion and my soul. Perhaps because I haven’t written down anything in so long my brain has turned on me. I need to write I can feel the withdrawals are getting worse and worse and worse. I am reading a book, but this isn’t helping me with this frustration. God damn what the hell am I going to do. They say this cures writer’s block just typing or writing. But nothing is coming to my head. HAVE I LOST MY FUCKING CREATIVITY. God I hope not. Some people give up writing but I can’t I will not…I will only give it up in death. Does anybody have suggestions on how to get over this painful writers block>

Thoughts about finals

Okay so i am back into the bloging world. Last week was like hell on earth. Finals week killed my creativity and it has yet to rise from the grave. This is really fucking pissing me off because i can't write and writing is what gets me high. So perhaps i am burnt out since have been writing term papers and such. I checked out a boat load of books from the library which i will be reviewing and eventually I'll get to review a few movies as well(they may be old because i can't afford to see the new ones) but they will be reivews none the less. If there are any books or movies you would like to review let me know and i'll give you a spot on this blog. I'll be blogging more randomly now that school is out for the month. See ya next time.

Thank You for reading

I have no fucking free time to write anything at all. i am really really wanting to write this idea that i have had down. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOO. FUCKING FINALS, yes i am reapeating my self. But this blog might be deleted after a while anyway. Who wants to read a crabby blogger....okay maybe a few of you nerdheads do. But right now i should change my heading to Uber Crabby.

Review of King Arthur(circa 2004)

Keira Knightly(Guinevere) and Clive Owen(King Arthur Castus) star in the movie King Arthur. First off i'd like to say this movie wasn't entirely bad. The main story is about the battles between the Saxons and the Romans. Although it does tell the tale of the "historical" king Arthur, many things were changed for purposes of Hollywood. If you are familiar with the legend of King Arthur you will notice some slight changes. The changes are not bad, just different. The entire cast of the King Arthur legend is there including Merlin, Lancealot, Tristan, Gwaian and Gahaland. The story closely relates to the Malory version of King Arthur....minus his death.
The acting and the cinematography was pretty dang good. But most of all if you are a battle scene lover, there is a few of them that are really well done. I honestly think this movie was meant for people who aren't expecting a romance between Arthur and Guinevere, it is there but it is shoved off to the side and not made important until the end. Guinevere in fact kicks some ass herself. Overall i would give this movie a 7/10. So go rent it from the movie store or from the library like i did, it will be to your advantage. This movie was very much worth the procrastination, so go procrastinate what ever you are doing and watch the movie.

Thanks for reading until next time adios

This blog

Okay so i know that i stated before that i have never really kept up with a blog. But i think this is the longest i have ever kept up with a blog. I am enjoying it really, it helps me write better non-fiction. Once again, i would at this moment be writing a review but i have yet to have time to get to that point. FUCK FINALS. But i will be watching a movie called King Arthur because i am doing a project on him, its sorta pertinent to the project, but not really, i like to say it is so that i can procrastinate while watching. So King Arthur will be my next movie review and Martian Chronicles review will be coming slowly but surely.

Thank you all nerdheads for reading(all 11 of you)
